-Pow Wow Committee
A BOUT US

Birch Bark Canoe We are a small committee of volunteers operating under the direction of Anne Bush. The Committee organizes the Walk in the Spirit Pow Wow for the People. Our priority has been to make sure our pow wow is organized in a good way. We consult spiritual leaders, elders, and respected members of the Anishnabe community. The Committee asks these individuals to come and share teachings. These respected community members, the dancers, the drummers, the singers, the Ogichida, and all the People who come to listen are what makes Frank Bush Memorial Walk in the Spirit Pow Wow a "teaching" pow wow. The people who come make this a good gathering.

The Committee members contribute time and personal monies to make this gathering possible. Trader fees, fundraisers, donations, and raffles help offset some of our out of pocket expenses. This gathering does not generate profit, we cover the cost. We are always seeking support and grants to make the Walk in the Spirit Pow Wow possible.

We put our hearts into organizing the Walk in the Spirit Pow Wow because we want to bring our People together in a good way, in a traditional way, and in a good place. You are welcome to volunteer and the committee works year around.
